RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — One of Sheriff Frank Priddy’s key campaign promises is now coming to life—bringing the D.A.R.E. program back into Raleigh County classrooms to educate and empower local youth.
The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office announced that Cpl. C. Schack has officially completed the D.A.R.E. Training Academy, held July 14–25 at the NC DPS Samarcand Training Facility. During the intensive course, Cpl. Schack was trained in delivering the full D.A.R.E. curriculum to elementary, middle, and high school students.
Now a certified D.A.R.E. Officer, Cpl. Schack will begin visiting schools across Beckley and Raleigh County this fall, helping students make safe, healthy, and responsible choices.
Sheriff Priddy praised the achievement, saying it reflects the department’s commitment to proactive, community-focused policing.
“Educating our youth is one of the best investments we can make,” Priddy said. “We’re proud to have Cpl. Schack lead this effort and bring D.A.R.E. back to our classrooms.”
The return of D.A.R.E.—Drug Abuse Resistance Education—marks a major step toward youth engagement and drug prevention across the county.
