BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Damage sustained to a utility pole along Harper Road has impacted utility services for an untold number of customers on Monday evening.
The pole, situated near Campestre Mexican Bar & Grill, can be observed clearly from the roadway, appears to have been left at roughly a 45 degree angle.
Authorities with the Beckley Police Department are currently on scene, and it is unclear at the time of writing what caused the breakage of the pole, nor is it certain precisely how extensive the impact of the damage is with regard to service interruptions for nearby residents and businesses.
It is apparent, however, that the incident has neutralized the utility for the immediate surrounding area, as several traffic lights appear to be out of commission, along with signage at local businesses including the nearby GoMart and BP fueling stations.
