BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Thursday saw the highly anticipated team reveal of United Way of Southern West Virginia’s eleventh season of Dancing with the Stars at the Historic Black Knight Municipal Park.
This year’s event is scheduled to take place on at 6:00pm Friday, September 20th at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center, and will feature six couples working with six choreographers.
“Dancing with the Stars is our premier fundraising event and the social event of the season,” says United Way Executive Director, Trena Dacal. “These twelve community members are prepared to top the fundraising and entertainment level of our record breaking tenth season!”
The Season 10 cast of Dancing with the Stars raised a record-breaking total of $257,369, surpassing the former record set by Season 8’s $208,355 in 2019.
Funds generated through Dancing with the Stars are allotted for the funding of nonprofit organizations throughout Raleigh, Summers, Wyoming, Fayette, Mercer, McDowell, and Nicholas County, as well as the greater Bluefield area.
New shoes for children, meals for seniors, formula and diapers for babies, and food for families experiencing hardship are among the services which benefit from United Way’s fundraising efforts.
