BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Dangerously cold air has settled over the region, prompting Extreme Cold Warnings and Cold Weather Advisories through Tuesday due to life-threatening wind chills and lingering travel hazards.

Forecasters warn that bitterly cold wind chills today through Tuesday could quickly lead to hypothermia or frostbite if proper precautions are not taken. In addition, concerns for black ice will continue through the week as prolonged cold refreezes moisture left behind by the weekend winter storm.
