MARTINSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Police in Martinsburg have announced that a deceased body with a gunshot wound was found last Wednesday and that they have arrested the suspect.
According to a press release from the Martinsburg Police Department, through the evening hours of June 14 into the evening hours of June 15, 2023, the Martinsburg Police Department (MPD) has been diligently working on a case involving a young woman who was found deceased in the area of Exchange Place in Martinsburg.
The area is a very remote location located just West of the North Queen Street overpass.
The female was identified as a 22-year-old local woman by the name of Hannah Wilson. Ms. Wilson’s family members were immediately notified by MPD detectives, and an investigation was initiated.
Ms. Wilson was sent to Charleston for an autopsy and due to the suspicious nature of her injuries the WV State Police along with the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, ATF and Mt. Weather Police Department were called upon to assist with a K-9, a mobile crime scene and manpower.
During the course of the investigation, Ms. Wilson’s death was ruled a homicide by a gunshot wound and a suspect was developed.
Warrants were obtained for Zekhi Pairidaeza, an acquaintance of Ms. Wilson’s, and a search warrant was filed for and conducted at his residence on West Race Street in Martinsburg.
Mr. Pairidaeza has been charged and arrested for 1st-degree murder and is currently being held at Eastern Regional Jail without bond.
