OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two new signs welcoming visitors and citizens to the city of Oak Hill will soon be constructed thanks to the presentation of an economic development grant by Delegate Elliott Pritt.
Del. Elliott Pritt (R-Fayette) announced a $2,000 economic development grant donation during the Oak Hill City Council swearing-in ceremony Thursday evening.
“I was proud to present an economic development grant to the nearly sworn in Oak Hill City council this evening!” Pritt said.
The grant has been designated for the construction of two distinctive “Welcome to Oak Hill” signs, which will greet motorists and cyclists as they enter the town.
The grant funds are part of the Local Economic Development Assistance program, and its purpose is to assist communities throughout West Virginia.
Delegate Pritt also extended congratulations to the new council members and mayor, who were on the verge of being sworn in during the event.
“Congratulations to the nearly sworn-in council members, and a big congratulations to Oak Hill’s first African American mayor, Mr. Charles Briscoe!” Pritt stated.
