PAX, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Delegate Elliott Pritt (R-Fayette) presented Pax Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) with a Local Economic Development Grant Thursday evening.
The grant will be used to purchase thermal imaging equipment that will allow the Pax VFD to increase its effectiveness during rescues and fire suppression.
“I was proud to present an Economic Development grant to the Chief of the Pax Volunteer Fire Department [Thursday] evening,” Pritt said. “I am truly honored to represent the people of Pax.”
The West Virginia Legislature appropriates funds for the Local Economic Development Grant (LED) to support county or multi-county economic development efforts through a matching grant program.
The program is administered through the West Virginia Department of Economic Development (WVDED).
The purpose is to enhance the capacity of local economic development to undertake economic development activities and to complete the Certified Development Community (CDC) program requirements.
