BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The WVU Tech Junior Mountain Biking Team was presented with a check from the West Virginia Legislature on Friday by House of Delegates member Todd Kirby.
The presentation ceremony was attended by President T. Ramon Stuart and Professor Roe of WVU Tech, and saw funds secured by the West Virginia Legislature issued to the Junior Mountain Biking Team, the Pit Vipers.
The team, comprised of middle-to-high-school-aged students both male and female, met and spoke with the Delegate during the event, which took place at Ride-N-Slide Sports in Beckley.
“It was an awesome experience meeting the young men and women who make up Beckley’s own youth cycling team, the Pit Vipers. I was honored to be able to help secure funding for new mountain bikes for the team,” said Delegate Kirby.
“Special thanks to Dr. Roe and President Stuart for reaching out and introducing me to this great group of young people. With a name like a Pit Vipers you know they’re going to be a beast in competition.”
Ride-N-Slide Sports is located at 403 2nd Street, Beckley, WV. Additional LOOTPRESS coverage for the Raleigh County area can be found here.
