NICHOLAS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Delegate Heather Tully, R-Nicholas, recently presented additional LEDA grant funds to three important pieces of the Nicholas County community.
Delegate Tully stopped by Nicholas County High School to visit the den of the Nicholas County Marching Grizzlies and present $5,000 in grant funds that will be used for the purchase of new band uniforms.
“I’m always proud to support the ‘Heart of Nicholas County’ any way I can,” Tully said. “Let’s go, Griz!”
Tully also visited the Birch River Fire Department to present a $2,500 LEDA grant she had secured to help them purchase a new pumper truck.
“These friends and neighbors serve a wide area, and I’m so happy to be able to help them keep their life-saving equipment as up to date as possible,” she said. “I’m especially loving the affirmation of ‘In God We Trust’ on this vehicle.”
Lastly, Delegate Tully presented a $1,500 LEDA grant for streetlight upgrades to the Beaver-Greater Craigsville area of Nicholas County.
“This extra lighting will help support the safety of pedestrians who walk along the roadside along with students awaiting the arrival of the school bus,” she said. “Many of us are hopeful this lighting will deter area crime as well.”
Delegate Tully, who first was appointed to the House of Delegates in 2020, serves as vice chairwoman of the House Health and Human Resources Committee as well as on the House Committee on Fire Departments and Emergency Medical Services and the Education Committee.
