MILL CREEK, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman faces charges following the Friday investigation a suspicious person report in the Randolph County area.
According to reports from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday, November 4, 2022, 911 dispatched a suspicious person call to the Mill Creek Show Building.
It was advised by the caller that a woman who was not a tenant at the apartment was at the building loudly talking to herself and refusing to leave the premises.
Deputy Pingley of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, and upon walking upstairs,  could hear a female talking very loudly outside an apartment in the building.
While interacting with the woman, Deputy Pingley noted that the woman exhibited slurred speech, dilated eyes, rapid eye movement, and an inability to stand still.
The officer report indicates that the woman appeared to be suffering from mental illness, which seemed consistent with long-term substance abuse.
The woman, who advised that she was homeless and did not reside at the apartment complex, requested a courtesy transport to Elkins.
Deputy Pingley agreed to the transport on the condition he be permitted to search the woman’s person and belongings as a safety measure.
It was at this point that the woman seemingly changed her mind about the transport, at which point she was advised that she would need to leave the property because she was trespassing.
The woman made several refusals to collect her belongings and leave the complex before an order was given to leave.
Eventually the woman, identified as Diana Nash, was detained for Trespassing.
A subsequent search yielded a small plastic baggie found in a pocket of the subject’s denim shorts.
Contained within the bag was a white, crystal-like substance consistent with methamphetamine.
The odor of marijuana emitting from Nash’s purse led to the discovery of a plastic bag containing a leafy, green substance consistent with marijuana, for which a medical marijuana card could not be provided.
The subject was placed inside Deputy Pingley’s police cruiser, and a transport to Tygart Valley Regional Jail was initiated.
Officer reports indicate that, during the transport, the subject repeatedly threatened Deputy Pingley with bodily harm and even death.
The threats continued until the two arrived at the facility, at which point the threats were directed  at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail staff.
Based on the incident, Diana Nash was charged with Trespassing and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
