SOUTH WHEELING, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Detectives with the Wheeling Police Department are currently investigating circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body in an abandoned home.
According to reports from the Wheeling PD, authorities were contacted just before 12:30pm on Tuesday by a demolition crew at the 4200 block of Jacob Street in the South Wheeling area when a body was located in the basement area of the unoccupied residence.
The identity of the individual who was found has yet to be determined, and the remains are being transported to the West Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office for identification and a determination of the cause of death.
