BECKLEY, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – On Monday, a firefighter with the Bradley-Prosperity Volunteer Fire Department was arrested after making a scene with security at the Raleigh County Courthouse.
According to the criminal complaint, Anthony Templeton entered the courthouse to attend a hearing. When told by security that masks were required while inside the building, Templeton became irate and refused to wear a mask, stating that his doctor said he didn’t have to.
Templeton supposedly held up said doctor’s note, which, when inspected, showed no mention of him being exempt from wearing a mask, only that he had asthma and one other medical condition. Following the incident, law enforcement contacted Templeton’s doctor, Dr. Kyle Muscari with Access Health, who stated that he did not recall writing Anthony an order not to wear a mask.
When told by security that his behavior would not be tolerated, Templeton began shouting expletives at the security guards and continued to be hostile. Bystanders and workers in the magistrate clerk’s office began to notice his outburst and were obviously disturbed by the screaming.
Templeton was arrested by Cpl. R.A. Cox, who was working as a bailiff at the Judicial Annex and witnessed the outburst. Templeton was arrested for Obstruction of Justice, as well as Disorderly Conduct.
