QUINWOOD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A domestic dispute early on May 1, 2025, led to police intervention and conflicting accounts from both parties involved at a residence on Marfrance Road. Deputies D.J. Staley and K.E. Pack responded to a report of a physical altercation shortly after 6:50 a.m.
Upon arrival, they found Stephen Wayne McCormick in a truck, detailing a series of events that unfolded overnight involving his ex-partner, Michelle Ann Neff.
According to McCormick, Neff took his truck the previous night and returned around 5 a.m. After a late-night message claiming she was “on her way home,” tensions flared when she allegedly took McCormick’s money, claiming to have hidden it.
An argument ensued, escalating into a physical confrontation where McCormick stated he was hit repeatedly. In a dramatic turn, the altercation reportedly involved Neff striking McCormick through the truck window and breaking items inside the house, including a tablet and a plastic table. McCormick attempted to call 911 after leaving the residence, having claimed that Neff threatened to destroy his property.
Neff provided her account to deputies, accompanied by security camera footage. While the video quality was poor, she alleged that McCormick tried to run her over and pushed her to the ground. However, investigators noted that the footage did not show any reckless driving or direct attempts to hit her.
Both parties displayed visible injuries, with McCormick sustaining marks and minor bleeding and Neff showing signs of struggle on her hands.
Neff is charged with domestic battery.
