SUMMERS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A domestic disturbance call in Summers County on Monday afternoon led to the arrest of a man who later became combative with deputies during booking procedures.
On July 28, 2025, around 1:20 p.m., Summers County Animal Control Officer Clements reported hearing what he believed to be a physical domestic incident inside a residence on Lockbridge Road in Meadow Bridge. Deputies quickly responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, authorities made contact with Eldridge Bragg Jr., who admitted to having “put hands on” his live-in girlfriend, though he declined to elaborate. The woman confirmed the altercation, stating Bragg had pushed and shoved her during an argument that had been ongoing throughout the morning. She also told deputies that this was not the first time such behavior had occurred.
Bragg was taken into custody and transported to the Summers County Sheriff’s Office. However, while being processed, he allegedly became aggressive during fingerprinting. Deputies say Bragg took a threatening stance and refused multiple commands to cooperate. Sgt. Cochran was forced to strike Bragg in order to gain compliance, after which Bragg was subdued without further incident.
