RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Several road hazards have been reported across southern West Virginia after strong storms moved through the region Thursday morning, bringing damaging winds, heavy rain and widespread power outages.
According to Summers County 911, Route 20 near True Road at the Bluestone Lake end is currently blocked by a downed tree. Agencies are responding to the scene.
The West Virginia Division of Highways’ WV511 system is also reporting a tree in the roadway on WV-41 at 5034 Stanaford Road in Raleigh County.
In Greenbrier County, WV511 reports another tree blocking part of WV-12 in the 3800 block of Alta Drive.
Motorists are urged to use caution while traveling, watch for emergency responders and utility crews, and be prepared for additional road hazards.
