The beloved actor was a fixture on daytime television for over three decades, captivating audiences with his charm, resilience, and compelling performances. Hogestyn was 70 years old.
Born Donald Drake Hogestyn on September 29, 1953, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Hogestyn originally pursued a career in baseball, having been drafted by the New York Yankees in 1976. After an injury sidelined his athletic career, he shifted gears and entered acting, quickly making a name for himself in the television industry.

He was the most amazing husband, father, papa and actor. “He loved performing for the Days audience and sharing the stage with the greatest cast, crew, and production team in the business. We love him and we will miss him all the Days of our Lives.”
