ELKINS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two individuals were transported from the scene of a Wednesday morning vehicle accident to receive medical treatment.
According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on the morning of 6/7/2023, Deputies with the department were dispatched to US 33 at the Rt. 151 intersection in response to a two vehicle motor vehicle accident which had occurred.
An investigation of the scene determined that a 2007 Ford Escape had been turning left onto US 33 from Rt. 151 and failed to yield the right of way to a 2019 Toyota 4-Runner which had been traveling east on US 33.
The 4-Runner was unable to come to a stop before striking the driver’s side of the Ford Escape. The driver of the 4-Runner was transported from the scene by emergency medical services to Davis Memorial Hospital to receive treatment for injuries incurred from the accident.
The driver of the Ford Escape required life flight transport from the scene to Ruby Memorial Hospital to receive treatment for injuries.
Assistance at the scene was provided by Randolph County EMS, Coalton Fire Department, Junior Fire Department, West Virginia State Police, and Healthnet.
