RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Raleigh County Sheriff Frank Priddy reported that deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, near the 600 block of Old Eccles Road.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, both the male driver and female passenger of one of the vehicles fled the scene on foot after the crash. The male suspect was caught and detained by bystanders until deputies arrived.
Cpl. J. Howard and his K9 partner, Scio, tracked the female passenger into a nearby wooded area, where she was found lying on the ground with a leg injury and unable to move. Howard remained with her until the Mabscott Fire Department and EMS arrived to safely extract her.
The driver, identified as William Marshall, was arrested by Cpl. S. McClure and charged with Driving Revoked – 2nd Offense. He is being held on bond at Southern Regional Jail. The female passenger was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Sheriff Priddy expressed his gratitude to the bystanders, Mabscott Fire Department, and EMS for their quick response and assistance at the scene.
