(LOOTPRESS) – A traffic incident late Thursday morning necessitated the extraction of one driver from an impacted vehicle.
The East River Volunteer Fire Department reports that, just after 11:00am on Thursday, May 4, 2023, ERVFD Squad 51, Rescue 5, and Engine 1 responded to a vehicle vs 18 wheeler with entrapment situation on I-77 southbound near mile marker 3.
The scene saw the arrival of Squad 51 within 14 minutes of the initial page, and a flipped vehicle could be observed at the site of the accident. At the time of arrival, the extraction process of the driver from inside the vehicle was immediately initiated.
Extrication was completed within 9 minutes of arrival and care of the driver was transferred to Princeton and Bluefield Rescue Squad personnel. ERVFD remained on scene until the roadway was cleared.
