HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Cabell County man faces charges following an incident on Sunday during which a dog was reportedly beating and kicking a dog.
According to Cabell County Court documents, on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 7:05pm, authorities responded to the Huntington area with regard to reports of a male “beating and kicking on” a black and white shih tzu.
The incident saw response from a Cabell County Deputy and home confinement officer who made their way to Short Street in Huntington. A male was observed walking along the 200 block of Short Street exhibiting behavior described as, “unsteady and boisterous.”
The male was identified as Sydney Figg, born August 18, 1975. A strong odor of alcohol was emitting from the defendant, who was reportedly failing to cooperate with authorities.
Figg is then said to have grabbed the deputy’s right hand, at which point the defendant was taken down by a leg sweep and placed in restraints.
Sydney Figg has been charged with Battery on a Police Officer and Public Intoxication based on the incident and was transported to Cabell County Courthouse for arraignment in relation to the charges.
