PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An elderly Marine veteran was hospitalized with a broken jaw after allegedly being attacked with a hammer and robbed inside a Princeton residence Sunday morning.
According to a criminal complaint, Cpl. E. D. Leftwich responded to a reported robbery at a home on Bluefield Avenue in Princeton around 7:45 a.m. on May 17, 2026.
When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from multiple injuries. Police said blood was running down the left side of his face from a head laceration. Officers also observed cuts on his left arm and swelling forming along his jaw.
The victim told police that Kathy Renee Turner and an unidentified white male allegedly struck him repeatedly with a hammer before stealing his wallet and fleeing the scene in a silver vehicle.
According to the complaint, the stolen wallet contained approximately $30 in cash and was valued at around $100.
The man was transported to Princeton Community Hospital for treatment. During a follow-up visit later that morning, doctors reportedly informed investigators that the victim suffered a broken jaw as a result of the attack.
The victim also told police that his Truist Bank debit card had allegedly been used at a gas station for approximately $110 following the robbery.
