OCEANA, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Officials for the Town of Oceana convened at City Hall on Monday for the canvassing of results from last week’s Municipal Election.
Polls for the election opened on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, and saw Tom Evans Jr. elected as Oceana Mayor. Jim Cook was elected as Town Recorder, and those chosen for Town Council included Tammy Gallion, Marie Green, Jacob Jones, Dillard Tate, and Joetta Walker.
Canvassing for the election results took place at 7:00pm on Monday and, according to authorities, the results of the election remain unchanged following the canvass.
Oceana Town Council will meet on Tuesday evening for a rescheduled meeting at Oceana City Hall. The meeting will see discussion of several agenda items including consideration of a wastewater plant upgrade, a vote on a proposed water project, and more. It should be noted that Oceana City Hall will be among the locations scheduled to be closed on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in observance of Juneteenth. City Hall will also be closed on Wednesday, June 20, 2024, in observance of West Virginia Day.
