HUTTONSVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – First responders found themselves on the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on Route 219 in Huttonsville last Thursday, where minor injuries were reported.
According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene as a large farm tractor, towing a disk implement, was seen heading south on Rt 219.
The disk mechanism was reportedly involved in the crash, striking a white Jeep before dragging it into a maroon Dodge truck pulling a horse trailer.
According to witnesses, the disk mechanism deployed during transit, obstructing most of the two lanes of the highway.
The drivers of the white Jeep and the Dodge truck attempted to veer as far right as possible toward the guardrail to avoid a collision with the farm implement.
The driver of the white Jeep sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The Department of Highways (DOH) closed the road to through traffic until the farm machinery could be safely removed from the highway.
