(LOOTPRESS) – On Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at approximately 8:10 a.m., Sgt. P. L. North, Tpr. R. H. Jadotte and Tpr. A. T. Shank responded to a three-vehicle accident in the 1400 block of Edwin Miller Boulevard.
Upon arrival, Troopers were advised that one of the drivers involved had been ejected from the vehicle and was deceased. The deceased was identified as 40-year-old Marquita Medieta of Martinsburg, WV.
The vehicle driven by Marquita Medieta was traveling west on Edwin Miller Boulevard. The second vehicle turned left onto Edwin Miller Boulevard to head east from the Taco Bell parking lot. The second vehicle struck Marquita Medieta’s vehicle. The impact forced Marquita Medieta’s car into the eastbound lane, hit by a tractor-trailer heading east on Edwin Miller Boulevard. Marquita Medieta was ejected on impact.
The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were transported to Berkeley Medical Center due to injuries sustained from the crash.
