FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A father is in jail after deputies found drugs and discovered deplorable living conditions.
According to Fayette County deputies, on July 12, 2021, a welfare check was conducted. Deputies found marijuana during a vehicle search and meth. The suspect, William Holtsclaw Sr., said there was a firearm in the vehicle and marijuana. Once they continued to search the car, they found a camouflage container containing smaller plastic bags with a crystal-like substance, which appeared to be meth, scales, and other drug paraphernalia. The son of the father told authorities that they had both been smoking marijuana. When the deputies searched the home on Beauty Mountain Substation Road in Edmond, several small plastic bags containing meth were discovered in the kitchen, along with more firearms.
Deputies also found the residence in deplorable conditions. Multiple windows were busted out throughout the home, and the makeshift flooring was not safe. The juvenile son told deputies that they defecated in a bucket and would rinse it out. The house had no running water, and pipes inside were exposed. Deputies found little to no food in the home.
William Holtsclaw Sr. is facing two counts of gross child neglect charges. He is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a 50,000 dollar bond.
