FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Fayette County Board of Education has approved the purchase of four new gasoline-powered school buses to update the district’s transportation fleet.
During its regular meeting on Monday, the board unanimously voted to purchase the buses from Blue Bird Sales of West Virginia.
The approved purchase includes three 2026 Blue Bird “Vision” conventional school buses with a capacity of 77 passengers, as well as one 47-passenger model of the same make.
The cost for the three 77-passenger buses is $415,632, while the 47-passenger bus will cost $161,496. The total expenditure for all four buses amounts to $577,128.
Funding for the purchase will be covered entirely by the 2026 state bus replacement allocation designated for Fayette County Schools.
