FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Pax man is facing felony charges in Fayette County. Sheriff Jess McMullen provides the following information regarding this incident.
In the evening hours of June 21, 2025 deputies responded to a shots fired complaint in Pax. Information was given to deputies from the E911 center that a male subject allegedly was drunk and had shot a dog. When deputies arrived at the residence, they located the injured dog, the male subject, and a firearm. Deputies were able to determine that the male subject had shot the dog, inside the residence, where children were present.
Ronnie A. McGinnis, 29 of Pax, is charged with the felony offenses of Wanton Endangerment and Child Neglect Creating the Risk of Serious Bodily Injury or Death (2 counts), as well as the misdemeanor offenses of Shooting Within 500 Feet of a Dwelling, and Animal Cruelty.
