CHIMNEY CORNER, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Fayette County man is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop.
According to Fayette County Sheriff Mike Fridley, just before noon on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, deputies were patrolling the Chimney Corner areas on WV Rt 16 and U.S. Rt 60 when they performed a traffic stop on a vehicle for a minor traffic violation.
During the stop, deputies obtained consent to search the vehicle as well as a positive indication by a narcotics-detecting K-9.
The search resulted in a quantity of fentanyl and methamphetamines, $1245 in US currency, as well as a ziplock bag of marijuana.
Rufus R. Keeney, 71 of Victor, is charged with the felony offenses of Possession With Intent to Deliver a Schedule 1 Narcotic, and Possession With Intent to Deliver a Schedule 2 Narcotic.
Keeney was arraigned by a Fayette County Magistrate where he posted a $50,000 bond.
He will now await further court proceedings.
