FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A resident of Gauley Bridge is currently facing felony charges in Fayette County. Sheriff Shannon Morris has provided details regarding this case.
On August 8th, deputies were alerted to potential child abuse occurring in the Scrabble Creek vicinity of Gauley Bridge. They received a home security video from January 2024, which had only recently come to light. The footage depicted a male individual physically assaulting a juvenile male. Following this, deputies made contact with the individual and conducted a mirandized interview, during which he confessed to the actions depicted in the video.
Justen W. Belcher, 36, of Gauley Bridge, has been charged with the felony offense of Child Abuse, as well as the misdemeanor offense of Domestic Battery. He is now awaiting further court proceedings.
