MEIGS COUNTY, OHIO (LOOTPRESS) – A tragic accident occurred in Meigs County on Saturday, resulting in the death of a man.
According to a statement from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the incident took place shortly before 1:15 p.m. on U.S. 33.
The victim, identified as 31-year-old Michael McFarland from Oak Hill, W.Va., was traveling eastbound on U.S. 33 near milepost 18 when his vehicle veered off the left side of the road. The vehicle then collided with an embankment and a tree before overturning.
Following the accident, McFarland was transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The authorities have initiated an investigation into the crash.
