FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Fayette County man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to felony harassment in violation of a final domestic violence protection order.
Jason P. Wyatt, 43, of Victor, was sentenced July 20 by Judge Thomas K. Fast to one to five years in prison and fined $3,000, according to Fayette County Prosecuting Attorney Anthony Ciliberti Jr.
Wyatt pleaded guilty to the charge on April 30. He must serve at least one year in prison before becoming eligible for parole.
According to prosecutors, a final domestic violence protective order was issued against Wyatt in January 2024, prohibiting him from contacting a person with whom he had previously been in a relationship.
Law enforcement was notified on Sept. 4, 2025, that Wyatt allegedly continued contacting the victim after the protective order had taken effect and was served on him.
Prosecutors said the victim provided documentation showing Wyatt contacted and threatened the victim, had other people make contact on his behalf and used several false numbers through texting applications to continue the unwanted contact and threats.
Investigators also reviewed Wyatt’s criminal history and determined he had previously violated domestic violence protection orders on three separate occasions involving different victims, according to the prosecutor’s office.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated the case. Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Ethan Z. Brogan prosecuted the case.
