FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Fayette County Schools has announced its open house schedule for the 2026-27 school year, giving students and families an opportunity to meet teachers, visit classrooms and prepare for the first day of school.
Classes for Fayette County students begin Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026.
The open house schedule is as follows:
- Fayetteville PK-8 (all grades): Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- New River Primary: Tuesday, Aug. 4
- Kindergarten: 4 p.m.
- 1st grade: 5:30 p.m.
- 2nd grade: 7 p.m.
- New River Intermediate: Tuesday, Aug. 11
- 4th grade: 4-5 p.m.
- 3rd grade: 5:30-6:30 p.m.
- 5th grade: 7-8 p.m.
- Oak Hill Middle School: Monday, Aug. 10
- 7th and 8th grades: 4:30-5:45 p.m.
- 6th grade: 6-7:30 p.m.
- Meadow Bridge Regional School (K-12): Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Midland Trail High School events:
- 6th Grade Transition Academy: Thursday, August 6, 4:30-7:30 p.m.
- 9th Grade Freshman Academy: Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2-4 p.m.
- Middle School Open House: Tuesday, Aug. 11
- High School Open House: Wednesday, Aug. 12
- Combined open house hours: 3-5 p.m.
- Oak Hill High School: Thursday, Aug. 6
- Freshmen: 5:30 p.m.
- 10th, 11th and 12th grades: 4-6 p.m.
- Valley PK-8: Times by grade on Aug. 6
- Kindergarten: 4-5 p.m.
- 1st grade: 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
- 2nd grade: 12-1 p.m.
- 3rd and 4th grades: 1-2 p.m.
- 5th and 6th grades: 2-3 p.m.
- 7th and 8th grades: 3-4 p.m.
- Midland Trail Elementary School:
- Kindergarten through 2nd grade: Tuesday, Aug. 11, 5-7 p.m.
- 3rd through 5th grades: Wednesday, Aug. 12, 5-7 p.m.
School officials encourage families to attend their school’s open house to meet staff, tour classrooms and receive information before students return to class on Aug. 13.
