FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Anthony Ciliberti, Jr., Prosecuting Attorney, announces that on August 17, 2021, Betty J. Burruss, age 48, of Winona, was convicted of four counts of Obtaining a Controlled Substance by Fraud.
Between May 2019 and September 2019, Ms. Burruss was employed as an LPN at the Ansted Center in Ansted. The investigation revealed that during her employment, she forged medication logs on multiple occasions in order to obtain controlled substances such as Norco and Oxycodone for her personal use.
These crimes were investigated by Sgt. J. E. Kincaid of the West Virginia State Police. The case was prosecuted by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Sarah F. Smith.
