BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Fayetteville man is facing criminal charges after an alleged series of harassing and threatening actions targeting his ex-girlfriend, according to a criminal complaint filed in Raleigh County.
The complaint states that on January 2, 2024, the victim reported to police that her ex-boyfriend, 19-year-old Talan Laxton, had been harassing her through excessive phone calls, voicemails, and uninvited appearances at her home and workplace.
The victim provided evidence of approximately 150 phone calls and 20 voicemails from Laxton since the early hours of January 1, 2025.
Some of the voicemails allegedly indicated that Laxton was outside her residence in Beckley.
The victim also reported that Laxton called her on New Year’s Eve, demanding to know the identity of her new boyfriend and threatening to kill both him and any law enforcement officers involved if she sought help.
She expressed fear for her safety, citing Laxton’s possession of multiple firearms and her belief that he was capable of carrying out his threats.
In response, the victim obtained a Domestic Violence Petition through the Raleigh County Magistrate’s Office.
Laxton was arrested and charged with stalking and threatening phone calls. He is currently out on bond.
