FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – In a historic decision, the Fayetteville Town Council has appointed Captain Tyler “Ty” Hogan as the new Chief of Police, making her the town’s 21st police chief and the first woman to hold the position in both Fayetteville and Fayette County.
“The council and myself are pleased to welcome Hogan as our new Police Chief,” said Mayor Cruikshank during last night’s regularly scheduled council meeting. “This is a significant milestone for our community, and we are proud to have her lead our department.”
Chief Hogan, a Fayetteville native, graduated from Fayetteville High School in 2007 and attended WVU Tech before completing the Police Academy in 2012. She served in the Army National Guard for nine years and has 13 years of law enforcement experience.
Hogan began her career as the Fayetteville Police Department’s first female officer in 2012. She later joined the Oak Hill Police Department before returning to Fayetteville in 2024, where she rose to the rank of Captain earlier this year.
“I am very glad to be serving my hometown of Fayetteville,” said Hogan.
Residents and community members can reach Chief Hogan at the Fayetteville Police Department, located at 95 Justice Lane, Fayetteville, WV 25840. She can be contacted via email at chief@fayettevillewv.gov or by phone at 304-574-0255.
