WELCH, WV (LOOTPRESS) – McDowell County residents affected by the recent flooding will soon receive in-person assistance from FEMA representatives following the Major Disaster Declaration issued by President Donald Trump.
According to the McDowell County Commission, FEMA officials will be visiting impacted areas to help residents complete necessary paperwork for disaster relief.
They may visit homes and will be identifiable by their official FEMA shirts or jackets.
Residents are reminded that FEMA representatives will never ask for money and will always provide an official FEMA ID upon request.
In addition to home visits, FEMA plans to open local offices in the coming days to further assist those in need.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of these resources as they work to recover from the mid-February floods.
