Bridgette Altizer, a senior at Seneca Trail Christian Academy, was crowned Ronceverte River Festival Queen on April 25 and received a $500 scholarship to attend New River Community and Technical College.
Ronceverte River Festival Pageant Director and Assistant Professor of Cosmetology at New River CTC, Lisa Carter awarded Altizer the scholarship on behalf of New River CTC Foundation.
“It’s a great way for the college to show support for our local community,” Carter said.
Altizer will compete in Charleston for the Miss West Virginia Association of Fairs and Festivals title in January 2022.
Carter manages and instructs students at the New River CTC Cosmetology Program Salon in Lewisburg. The salon is now open to the public for services provided by students in the cosmetology, esthetics, massage therapy, nail care technician, and barbering certificate programs.
New River CTC Foundation awards $125,000 in student scholarships each year to increase access to higher education and career skills in West Virginia.
