SUMMERS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Forest Hill Fire Chief in Summers County was indicted on embezzlement charges.
According to Summers County Prosecuting Attorney Kristen Cook, Matthew Stalnaker, the Forest Hill Fire Chief was indicted on two felonies and one misdemeanor charge. Â It’s alleged that Stalnaker embezzled $5,393.30 from the fire department between January 2018 and November 2019.
The WV Commission on Special Investigations investigated the incident.
Stalnaker is charged with felony embezzlement, felonry on fraudulent schemes, and a misdemeanor of making a false statement to the commission.
Stalnaker was arraigned on December 7, 2021.
