MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Local first responders were called to PikeView High School on Sunday evening after an electrical fire was reported in a classroom, according to Mercer County Schools.
School officials said the fire was limited to a single classroom and was quickly brought under control.

No students or staff members were inside the building at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported.
In a statement, Mercer County Schools thanked emergency crews for their rapid response, saying, “We appreciate the quick response from first responders.”
Officials did not immediately release additional details about the cause of the fire or whether the affected classroom sustained significant damage.
