BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One firefighter suffered minor injuries and a dog was rescued after a house fire early Thursday morning on Maxwell Hill Road, according to the Beckley Fire Department.
Firefighters were dispatched at 4:44 a.m. to a structure fire in the 1000 block of Maxwell Hill Road.
Crews extinguished the fire, searched the residence, and rescued one dog from inside the home. Firefighters remained at the scene until about 7:30 a.m. completing overhaul operations.
One firefighter sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
