LINCOLN COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Firefighters break a window out of a car to resuce a 15-month-old baby after the father was found passed out from drugs.
According to police, they responded to Starlight Drive in Alum Creek for reports of a man passed out behind the wheel of his car with a small child in the back. Police say Jerry Ryan Mullins of Madison was passed out with the car running. The accused would not wake up after officials knocked on the window. Firefighters broke a window out and rescued the child, and the driver didn’t wake up to the noise of the window being broken.
Officials say once they got Mullins awake, he told them he had taken prescribed Subutex and Medical Marijuana.
Police arrested and charged Mullins with DUI, DUI with child endangerment, and child neglect creating the risk of serious injury or death. Mullins has had two prior active DUIs and a conviction for DUI second offense. Mullins is currently out on bond.
