PRATT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Firefighters responded to a structure fire in Pratt on Monday at 4:47 PM, finding a two-car garage engulfed in flames.
Pratt Volunteer Fire Department Chief Shanklin and retired firefighter Steve Veazey were among the first to arrive, working together to apply the initial water to the fire.
As additional units from Pratt, East Bank, and Montgomery fire departments arrived, crews entered the garage to fully extinguish the flames.
Firefighters successfully contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to the nearby house.
While no residents were injured, the family tragically lost two dogs in the blaze.
Despite the cold temperatures, emergency personnel worked efficiently to bring the fire under control.
The Pratt Volunteer Fire Department expressed gratitude to East Bank and Montgomery fire departments for their assistance.
