FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS)— Ace Adventure Resort is hosting the first New River Gorge Festival at their resort from Friday, May 14th to Sunday, May 16th.
Special Events Coordinator Chris Colin is proud for this event to come to New River because it was just promoted as a national park.
This event had been planned for some time, but due to covid, it was put on the back burner.
“There’s been all of these other rivers that have their own festival and somehow New River always got left out of that,” said Colin.
This weekend event will have live music, outdoor fun, camping, films, and more. Weekend passes will be sold for $40 on their website. The pass includes camping for Friday and Saturday, access to vendors and demos, live music, and a film festival.
If you don’t want a weekend pass, you can pay $5 at the gate for the individual day and other a la carte fees might apply.
Ace Resort will also be giving free guided hikes and guided mountain bike rides.
Vendors will also be in attendance where you learn about the organization or check out gear from different brands.
“A lot of them are vendors that are partner organizations like the Friends of the New River, West Virginia River Coalition, Clean Water Alliance promoting their cause and educating along with gear vendors,” said Colin.
Food will be available at the Lost Paddle Restaurant.
On Sunday, May 16th, there will be a free river clean-up where festival-goers will be able to help clean up the New River.
Some of the live music that’ll be playing during the weekend are: the Travers Brothership, BlacKingCoal, Wild Rumpus, and The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band.
“Let’s celebrate one of Earth’s oldest rivers that we all love to paddle, hike, bike, and explore,” said the festival’s official website.
The festival will be held at 1 Concho Road, Oak Hill, WV 25901. If you have any questions about the event, you can contact the Ace Adventure Resort at 800-787-3982. To buy weekend passes and shuttle tokens, click here.
