HAWKS NEST, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A boat capsized on New River Saturday, resulting in first responders being called to the scene to assist.
According to the Ansted Fire Department, on Saturday, October 14, the Ansted Fire Dept. responded along with the Fayette County Swiftwater and Vertical Rescue Teams to a capsized boat on the New River just above the Hawks Nest Lake.
One victim was rescued from the water and taken to meet a Jan Care Ambulance at the boat launch. His boat was uprighted and towed to the boat launch where his family could retrieve it.
The Ansted Fire Department extended its thanks to Bobby Bower and New River Jetboats for assisting.
