OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A&W Sanitation says flooding and high water are preventing crews from reaching some customers in the Oak Hill and Scarbro areas.
According to the company, several roads in and around the two communities are currently closed due to flooding, making it unsafe for sanitation crews to access some locations.
A&W Sanitation says it plans to double up service next week to catch up affected customers once state and county crews have had time to reopen roads and conditions are safe for travel.
The company is also urging residents not to attempt to travel through flooded or closed roads.
A&W Sanitation’s office remains open, but the company said no one is currently available to answer phone calls. The company also noted that comments and messages submitted through Facebook will not receive a response.
The service disruptions come after repeated rounds of heavy rain caused flooding and high water across portions of southern West Virginia this week.
