OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A former convenience store employee faces a brandishing charge after allegedly pulling a knife and threatening another person during a confrontation at an Oak Hill business.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy responded to the Mountaineer Mart on Mall Road at approximately 3:56 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026.
Witnesses told authorities that Dominik Graley had remained inside the store’s restroom for an extended period, leading employees to suspect possible drug use. Graley was reportedly asked to leave the business but attempted to go behind the counter to retrieve personal belongings left there from his previous employment.
Employees told Graley they would retrieve the items for him and instructed him to remain outside the counter area.
Once outside, Graley allegedly challenged another person to come outside and fight. When that person followed him outside to advise that he was no longer permitted on the property, Graley reportedly pulled a knife from his pocket and began making threats.
A woman who witnessed the confrontation reportedly stepped between the two men in an effort to de-escalate the situation. The alleged victim then left the property on a bicycle.
The investigating deputy is seeking a brandishing charge against Graley under West Virginia law.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
