WEST VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) – On Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at approximately 6:30 PM, Senior Trooper R. L. Johnson responded to the 63.5 mm on US Rt—119 in Kanawha County in reference to a four-vehicle accident with ejection and entrapment.
A Chevrolet Sonic, with one occupant, was traveling North on US 119 and crossed the grass median, striking a Toyota Corolla traveling southbound operated by a victim, Tyler Butcher, 33 years old, of Peach Creek, WV, who was killed in the crash.
Another passenger of this vehicle, James Issacs, 20 years old, of Chapmanville, WV, was also killed. Â A third vehicle a Chrysler Pacifica, with three occupants also struck the Chevrolet Sonic. Â This third vehicle crossed the median and struck a fourth vehicle, a Lexus ES300H, with one occupant.
The investigation into the crash is continuing, and possible criminal charges could be forthcoming.
