BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Longtime local dining establishment King Tut Drive-In could be under new ownership in the near future as the longtime owners have announced intentions to sell the business.
The drive-in, a staple of the Beckley area for decades, is known for its wide variety of dishes, which includes everything from hot dogs and reubens to burgers and wraps.
The announcement came Monday afternoon via social media, with the restaurant owners indicating that negotiations for the sale of the restaurant are currently underway, though a firm commitment has yet to be established.
To our friend’s and customer’s,
“Here is what we can tell you now: we are currently in negotiations in anticipation of selling the drive in,” read the statement, which cited multiple reasons for the decision, including health-related issues and a general desire to enjoy retirement.
“At 77 years of age and 56 years of working, including some of the wife’s health issues, we are ready for full retirement.”
At the time of writing, King Tut Drive-In remains operational at 301 N Eisenhower Drive, Beckley, WV and is open for business as usual. A formal announcement is expected when and if an agreement is reached.
LOOTPRESS will continue to cover these developments as additional information becomes available.
