Gardner – Charleston Catholic took advantage of five errors Tuesday to claim the Class A Region 3 title with an 8-3 win over James Monroe in Game 2 of the regional championship series.
The win sends Catholic to next week’s state tournament and brings an end to James Monroe’s season.
Catholic collected five hits, getting RBIs from Connor Jarvis, Jonah DiCocco, Xander Allara and Jeff Reynolds.
Cameron Crislip led James Monroe with a pair of RBI in the loss.
