BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Dutch Miller has officially taken the reins as the new owner of Beckley Auto Mall located on Robert C. Byrd Drive in Beckley.
The official ribbon cutting was held Wednesday afternoon at the dealership and the brief rain shower didn’t hinder the excitement of the new era.
Officials with Dutch Miller cut the ribbon to the sounds of cheers and applause from those in attendance.
Dutch Miller is not just the name of the business, it is the name of the man, H. D. (Dutch) Miller who founded Dutch Miller Chevrolet in 1961.
In May 1976 Dutch raised the largest flag in the state in honor of fellow Marine LT. H. D. Scramuzza.
Now owned and operated by Dutch’s son, Matt, and two grandsons, Chris and Sam Miller, the business has grown to include Chevrolet, Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Ram, Hyundai & Kia.
President of Dutch Miller, Chris Miller, says he is excited to be in Beckley and that community engagement will be a major focus.
“The only expertise we’re going to bring is smiles, having a good time, selling cars, and also being an active member of the community right here,” Miller explained. “We believe that community engagement and being around people are the most important things, so we’re really excited to be here and sell cars.”
Dutch Miller currently employs approximately 300 people and proudly serves the tri-state from its locations in Huntington, Barboursville, Charleston, and now Beckley along with serving the greater Charlotte Metro area from its South Charlotte location.
